Pink was a small, scruffy puppy who lived in a landfill on the outskirts of town. She had no home, no family, and no one to care for her.
She spent her days scavenging for food and shelter, dodging dangerous animals and harsh weather. Pink was terribly sad and lonely. One day, a group of animal rescuers came to the landfill to search for abandoned animals.
They heard about the homeless puppy and decided to try and find her. It was a difficult search, as the landfill was vast and dangerous, but they persisted. Finally, after more than two hours of searching, they spotted Pink in a pile of garbage. She was severely depressed and ill, and she looked up at them with hopeless eyes.
