Mother cats have an important role in teaching their kittens important life skills, such as how to ingest food. Here’s an example of how this procedure usually goes:
Observation: Around three to four weeks old, kittens start showing interest in their mother’s food. They watch her eat and may even try to imitate her movements.

Solid Food Introduction: Around four weeks of age, the mother cat will offer solid food to her kittens.
She accomplishes this by delivering softened kitten kibble or wet food to the nest or the place where the kittens are housed.
